Install the BTX Chrome extension beta
This pilot beta is installed manually in Chrome. A BTX account and access to your team's project are required for live assistance.
- 01
Download and unzip
Download the ZIP above. On Mac, double-click it in Finder. On Windows, right-click it and choose Extract All. Keep the extracted folder somewhere permanent, such as Documents, because Chrome continues to load files from it.
- 02
Open Chrome's extension settings
Type
chrome://extensionsinto Chrome's address bar and turn on Developer mode. - 03
Load BTX
Click Load unpacked and select the extracted folder containing
manifest.json. Select the folder, not the ZIP file. Keep that folder in place after installation. - 04
Sign in and start
Open Chrome's Extensions menu, pin BTX if you want easy access, then open BTX. Sign in and choose your project. Reload any open support-tool tabs so the extension can start there. You control when replies are sent.
If Developer mode or Load unpacked is unavailable on a company-managed device, ask your IT administrator whether manual extension installation is allowed.
Update the beta
This manually loaded beta does not update automatically.
- Download the latest beta ZIP from the link above and unzip it.
- Replace the contents of the folder you originally loaded with the new files.
Keep the same folder location, with
manifest.jsondirectly inside it. - Open
chrome://extensionsand click Reload on the BTX card. - Reload your support-tool tabs. If asked, sign in to BTX again.
You do not need to remove the extension to update it. Keep the original folder in place rather than loading each download as a separate installation.
Try a sample ticket
Open the Mithril Wearables demo to try sample guidance, sources, draft replacement, and Undo without signing in. The demo uses synthetic data and fixed suggestions; it does not use live AI or your team's workspace.
